Q. How much HP can I expect from my custom map?
A. A typical 93 tune will net more than 15 whp and 30 wtq over a Cobb OTS map.
With the addition of e85 or meth injection you can easily see an increase of 20+ whp/ 30-50 wtq above and beyond the 93 tune.
Q. WHAT ARe the hp limits of the stock block?
A. In order to maintain what is a commonly accepted level of tq on the stock engine internals, most tunes will be limited to 350 wtq unless otherwise specified or discussed.
Q. HOW LONG DOES A CUSTOM TUNE TAKE TO COMPLETE FROM START TO FINISH?
A. How long a tune takes is highly dependent on the mechanical condition of the car and logging frequency.
If there are a number of boost leaks, and additional hardware issues that need addressing, that will naturally extend the time it takes to tune the car properly.
Each map typically takes 3-5 revisions once the car is well sorted.
Q. Do you offer OTS maps?
A. No. I'd prefer to either tune the car thoroughly or not tune the car at all.
Q. Is there a time limit on tunes (time limit to complete the tune)
A. No current time limits exist on tunes, BUT, you are expected to be mindful of other Mazdaspeed owners who may be in a pinch, or are as anxious to get their car tuned as you.
Q. WHAT SPARK PLUGS SHOULD I USE?
A. While not necessary on the stock turbo, one step colder plugs can be installed if gapped to .026.
Cars with turbo upgrades should use a one step colder plug gapped to 026.
Q. WHAT PARAMETERS SHOULD I LOG?
A. All logs should include the default parameters preset in the ACCESSPORT
Q. Does utilizing e85 require any additional maintenance or parts?
A. Concentrations of 50% or less of e85 in relationship to gasoline will not require any hardware upgrades, and should not present a need for any additional maintenance.
